Yesterday got off to a not-so-great start but I had fun in the end. I was meant to catch the 8:21 bus to Strathfield and meet my friend at the station but I missed it and so I told her I'd walk to North Strathfield station instead and meet her at Central because it'd be quicker than catching the next bus. So I walked to the station and guess what? There was track work (¬_¬) So then I had to catch a rail bus back to Strathfield and catch a train from there. Because of that, I missed the Economics lecture and had so much luck that I saw the horrifying scene of a dead bird on the road that had been run over by a car. You could actually see the trail of blood on the road. I had quite a few Business lectures lined up for the day but I really wanted to go on the campus tour so I ended up skipping some. Our tour guides were really nice hehe. One of them told us interesting stories about the pranks uni students play on Foundation Day such as releasing three pigs on campus and labelling them 1, 2 and 4 so the uni spent a week trying to find pig number 3 haha. And also how there's a McDonald's across the road where there isn't a crossing so they decided to paint a pedestrian crossing there and walk across it all day so the traffic hardly moved. Apparently the RTA had to go there in an emergency and remove it so the cars could pass.
We also had fun sneaking around the Business school because I wanted to look around, but I don't think we were allowed inside because the doors only open if a uni student swipes their card. We were just standing in front of the glass and a student walked by and swiped his card for us hehe. It was so quiet and eerie inside, with a sort of unwelcoming feeling. Though that's probably just because there was literally no one in there. I'm surprised that I'm saying this but I think I actually like UNSW better than USYD, though minus all the stairs and the super long walk up to the main part of the campus. If I end up there, I think I'll join some sporting clubs. I really want to play netball again. It's so sad that I haven't had the opportunity to play since primary school (minus gala days). I also want to learn tennis and this might seem really weird but I've always thought that Kyudo (Japanese archery) looks really awesome and I want to try it too but there isn't a Kyudo club at UNSW ); I didn't end up taking any photos because the buildings themselves are pretty average.
Afterwards we went to Town Hall because I wanted to check out some cameras at JB HI-FI. There are so many cameras at the flagship store in the Pitt St Westfield! I'm not sure what model to buy but my thoughts on buying point and shoot cameras is that there isn't any point in buying the newest and most expensive one because technology improves rapidly and there will always be newer and better ones. I was thinking of getting the 16.1mp Sony DSC H70 which has a really good 10x optical zoom but one of the staff suggested a Canon camera that is around the same price with really fun settings like fish eye lens effect. Personally I think I like the Sony one better but it literally has no settings, which sucks. Now I don't know what camera to get *sigh*. I also got a pair of Glamour Puss heels from Wanted that were on sale from $159.95 to $50. They're super high though (around 14cm including the platform) so I won't be wearing them very often haha. I'm so tall when I wear them. Around 177cm?
