Back to hell

First day back at school and the weather was scorching hot and horrendous. I'm somewhat not happy with the time slot of my free periods because on Mon B i have class, free period, class, and then we get to go home. Why couldn't i have two classes and then a free period? That way i'd be able to go home earlier, grrr.

Anyway, i just want to say thank you to Jess for being a lovely friend and accompanying me to Bankstown after school on such a blazing day like today, just so i could buy nail polish from Pro Nail Supply. The train there also didn't even have air conditioning. I find it pretty bizarre how i went all the way to Bankstown just to buy nail polish, especially considering that i've really only been there once in the last 6+ years. However, i really wanted to go because they stock U.S brands: Essie, China Glaze, Orly and OPI at much lower prices than other stores. Essie is $6, China Glaze is $6, Orly is $7 and O.P.I is $12. Apparently China Glaze was $5 before and OPI was $10, damn them for upping the price ): I ended up with 7 bottles of China Glaze and a bottle of Orly. It cost me $49 in total :/ There were 3 other colours i wanted but they didn't have them. I also wanted to try the OPI drip dry drops because i get so annoyed when my nails smudge when they aren't dry yet, but i decided against buying it because it was $12, and i can get it off Ebay for less. Aren't the colours pretty? (:

Last day

I honestly don't know what's wrong with me today but for a while it felt like the ceiling was spinning :/ It might be because i haven't been able to sleep very well lately and also haven't been eating very much. I seem to feel better now that i ate some lunch. Anyway, it's such a pity that Li Na didn't end up winning the women's finals. She was doing so well in the beginning but then started dropping because she lost concentration from being annoyed at everything (the crowd being noisy, the moths). Kim is a great player too so i guess i'm still happy.

Recently bought some Essie nail polish. Still waiting for two bottles to arrive in the mail. I seriously think they got lost because it's already been a very long time. And i got a pair of earrings today. I'm such a flower lover *laughs*.

Impending doom

Since school is starting in a few days, i'm sitting here, stressing about the English speech that is due in the second week of school. Not only do i really hate English, but the fact that it's a speech just makes it so much more worse because i'm hardly a public speaker. Why couldn't it be an essay? I really must stop this i'm going to avoid it and keep putting it off because i hate English business.

Finally done with my template. It's rather plain but i still like it. I always seem to get a headache after concentrating on something too hard, i.e bothersome html and css. I don't even know why i'm editing my template when i should be working. Hm, i still need to figure out how to get flash objects to go under the floral strip and i still haven't been able to center it when the browser is maximised/expanded. I tried so many things but they all didn't work, it's annoying me so much.

Depressing quarter finals

I'm so shocked and sad about Rafa's match because he couldn't play well due to a sudden hamstring injury, and thus lost the match to David Ferrer in straight sets. He looked so depressed and lifeless half the time, but i'm sure anyone would've been. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for him to hold all four grand slam titles in a row and many thought he would definitely get to the finals. He looked a little teary during one of the breaks. It's so heart breaking.

He's still young so hopefully another opportunity will come around.

I miss Winter

The weather was so horrible today, i felt like i was melting just from walking from the train station to my tutor's house. It only got worse when the train home from Epping had no aircon. It was like sitting in a sauna, worse experience ever. Maybe i should've waited for the next train *sigh*. It got even worse when the bus home also had no aircon. What luck i have.

Since school is starting next week, i'm starting to feel stressed out again, especially since i kind of wasted my whole holidays doing nothing, when it would've been wise to do lots of study. I find that i have so little willpower to actually do school work, and i keep putting it off, again and again and again. I hate myself so much. And if i happen to fail the HSC, there's no-one to blame but myself.

What i've been up to for the past two days,

I went to Burwood yesterday to buy a Cambridge yr 12 3u maths textbook from Dymocks because they were out of stock last time i went and i received a text that they restocked. I'm thinking that i should've gotten a haircut that day because my fringe has gotten long again and i'm hating it. I really wish that i could stop it from growing. It's rather annoying to get it cut quite often. Also bought a floral denim bustier dress from Forever New. Usually when someone says denim dress, i'd imagine something similar to really horrid-looking blue overalls but it's nothing of that sort. It has a nice, vintage looking floral pattern. I'm also usually not a big fan of denim unless it's denim shorts (i don't even like jeans much), but i quite like that dress.

Today: It's Irene's birthday ! HAPPY BIRTHDAY

We went to watch Morning Glory at midday and then spent a very long time eating, lounging and playing board games at Norita. I'm pretty impressed by the movie actually. I thought it would be rather boring whilst watching the trailer but i figured we could give it a go since Irene and her cousin wanted to watch it. Plus it was only $9 because it's the movie of the week, hehe. I wanted to watch The Green Hornet though, mainly because Jay Chou is in it. Hmph, stupid Irene didn't initiate any photo taking (even though it's her birthday) and thus i'm photoless ):

Got one for myself too but i don't even know if i'll even wear it :/ I bought it online and it looked deep red in the picture but in real life, it's rather pink. Not happy about that. Oh well, it's still pretty to look at. Maybe i'll end up wearing it sometime.

Time flies

I'm surprised that Bernard Tomic made it through to the 3rd round, but he's up against Nadal next so he'll probably get smashed :D I admit that i'm pretty impressed that he made it through but i don't really like him because he has a rather arrogant personality and a big ego. That, and he looks somewhat odd. Anyway, the matches should start getting exciting soon.

I didn't end up being very productive today, though i was meant to be. I walked over to the post office again to collect my parcel containing Irene's birthday present. Luckily it was express post because otherwise it probably wouldn't have made it in time for her birthday this Sunday. I don't have much to say so i shall get going on my Legal notes (that i was meant to do a while ago).

Wow, my blog posts are so boring lately. I feel like i'm literally babbling on about nothing.

1:12 am edit: After a close to five hour match, Hewitt lost to Nalbandian *insert swear words*. I can't believe it, i honestly thought he was going to win. *Sigh* poor guy.

Ahh, this isn't good. It's only day two of the Australian Open and it's already sucking up so much of my time. What am I going to do? I've been procrastinating for so long already and there are less than two weeks of holidays left. I really don't want to go back to school! Tennis also made me tweet so much that I'm over the daily tweet limit, grr. Can't tweet anymore until tomorrow *angryface*. No wait, it's hourly. I can tweet again :D I'm currently watching Hewitt's match. He started off really well but Nalbandian caught up. I also didn't blog about it before but the Rally for Relief on Sunday was so fun to watch.

Good (late) morning everyone,

I haven't been up to much really. I walked over to the post office yesterday to collect my parcels and it was so hot and humid that i came home feeling disgustingly sticky even though i was only out for half an hour. It turns out they didn't even have one of my parcels?! I have no idea why, but the man at the counter told me to go again when i get the second notice.

Hm, i'm going to go to Burwood later to finally use my Dymocks voucher before it expires and yay, Aus Open commences tomorrow. Dad is also leaving for China/Hong Kong. I wish i could go, but then again i wouldn't have any time to do my school work if i did. I shall wait until the end of this year and then go shopping in Hong Kong :D Which reminds me, when i was young i went to the Ocean Park there and i found it really awesome because they had two killer whales D; I really want to see one again but i read that they died and i don't think Ocean Park has any more, unless i'm mistaken.

Before i go to eat my breakfast, no.3 made me laugh ;D

Summary of today

1) Woke up at nine this morning and saw a black blob crawling across the ceiling. I haven't been wearing my contacts so i couldn't really see it but i figured that it was a spider. I put on my glasses and yes, it was indeed a spider. You know how i'm terrified of spiders so it took me a good few minutes to decide what to do since no-one else was home. I wanted to spray it but then it would fall off the ceiling and most likely blend into my grey carpet. I ended up whacking it with a slipper even though i really didn't want to go anywhere near it, but i couldn't leave it crawling around.

2) Discovered that i have somehow, again, sprained my right wrist.

3) Finished watching Otome Youkai Zakuro. I haven't watched any anime in a while.

4) Received another postal collection notice in the mailbox. I currently have three but i think i'll wait til the other one comes so i can pick them up all together. They usually put small parcels in my mailbox, i don't see why they're making me go collect them personally.

5) Finished reading The Great Gatsby (finally). Was surprised by the ending, actually.

6) Currently slightly annoyed that the order i made yesterday still hasn't been shipped out. It contains Irene's birthday present so i need to have received it by next Friday. I'm apparently meant to receive it within five business days.

Black Swan

Black Swan hits Australian cinemas on the 20th of this month but i came across the download link for a scr (screener) on noor7-us forums. The quality is pretty decent though it'd not HD since it isn't even released on dvd yet. For those who don't know what a screener is, it's the advance screening sent to video stores, critics etc. I was planning on watching it in cinemas but since the link was right in front of me, i ended up clicking it. I don't know how to organise my thoughts on it. It was a nice movie i suppose, but at times it was extremely weird and creepy.

Which reminds me, i read an article a few weeks back, and discovered interestingly that Rodarte's Kate and Laura Mulleavy designed the costumes. A few sketches i found:

The notion of tweaking eveningwear for day is taking off this week. Alber Elbaz did it at Lanvin, and at Valentino, Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri launched a capsule collection called Techno Couture that reimagines some of the house signatures—the roses, the ruffles, the ruching—in easy-to-wear stretch wool. The resulting black and white dresses are still plenty feminine, but you don't have to wait for a big night to pull them off. As in the duo's recent runway collections, the look was younger and hipper than it was during Valentino Garavani's own heyday, an effect compounded by a new focus on daywear. Nylon trenches in foundation colors topped knee-length lace frocks, some of which came with simple T-shirt-like bodices. Hanging on racks in the studio were flaring seventies-style trousers and elongated cardigans, the most covetable with a black mink front and a knit back. Another gem was tucked away in the showroom: A stripey turtleneck sweater fused with lace and shown with a leopard-spot A-line skirt (not pictured in the slideshow) looks destined for the front row at fashion shows next month—who will be the lucky insider to score those samples? A trio of puffer coats drove home the designers' message: Valentino isn't just a red-carpet brand. Not blogging frequently makes me feel like my blog is dead, but then again, i tend to blog more during school than in the holidays. Does that even make sense? I'm still feeling pretty depressed at the moment but it's not like there's anything i can do about it. I pretty much drowned myself in maths yesterday but i feel kind of happy that i've actually been doing work, though i really should hurry up with reading The Great Gatsby. It's a pretty quick read but i just haven't been picking it up.

I've been thinking, the question "If you could have one wish, what would it be?" or something along those lines is a question that i'm sure most people have come across throughout their childhood years. When i was young, i would say that i'd wish for a million more wishes because like many other greedy kids, i couldn't think of just one thing. If i was asked that question in more recent years, i probably would've said that i'd wish to be rich and successful in life. Right now, i'd just wish to be happy.

Yesterday was a pretty awful day, as was today, but it's related to personal family matters so i shall not be discussing them here. However, i will say that i was very grateful to my brother for what he said and how he acted. As for today, I feel so weak and drained, like i could sleep forever without ever waking up. That sounds quite pleasant actually. I really hope that tomorrow will brighten up.

Dilemma

I'm finding that i don't have much to blog about lately since i haven't really been doing anything exciting, though i did have a nice day out with Irene (and her cousin), Kristy, Jess and Viv on Wednesday. We went ice skating at Macquarie, ate lunch and watched The Tourist. Disappointing movie i must say. I was so tired that night that i went to bed at 10pm. I don't even remember the last time i slept that early, if i've even slept that early before.

I'm a little stressed at the fact that i still haven't bought Irene's birthday present and i have no idea what to get Kristy. I feel like such a bad friend because even though i've known Kristy for so long already (five years), i don't know what to get her. The only things that i know she likes is: gaming, strawberries, Kuroshitsuji, photography, and i can't even list any more *sigh*. I'm a self proclaimed bad friend.

Something else that i need to do - fix my piano: one of the black keys is sluggish. Considering that it still comes back up when i press it, it might be "swollen". I'm thinking about getting it tuned and repaired but i'm not really sure whether i should do that at present because i don't have much time to play on it anyway. Maybe i should wait til next year? But then again, that one key really annoys me and i can't play smoothly with it. On another note, i really should practice more often because i honestly find it saddening how much i suck now.
