HSC exam timetable

So i found out when almost all of my exams are from reading a thread on BOS (Bored, not Board), courtesy to Viv for finding them. I'm not really happy that three of my exams are so close together but i guess i shouldn't be complaining because someone posted that their friend has all six of her exams in three days D:

Japanese Beginners Speaking: 13/8/2011 09:00-16:00 (A whole two months earlier than all the other exams. I'm scared!)
English (advanced): Area of Study 18/10/2011 09:20
English (advanced): Modules 19/10/2011 09:25
Mathematics: 24/10/2011 09:25
Mathematics Ext 1: 26/10/2011 09:25
Economics: 28/10/2011 13:55
Legal Studies: 3/11/2011 (don't know the time)

Still waiting on someone to post the Japanese Beginners written exam date. I really hope it's not on the same date as one of my other exams, but of course i'd prioritise the other exam by far if it were.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Harry Potter part 2 trailer! Since when did he pull Voldemort off a cliff with him? I really don't think that was in the book .__. I'm so sad it's ending )'; I'd probably have the urge to read the series all over again when i have the time hehe. You just can't get sick of reading them again and again! Ah, childhood memories. It's also fun to watch the movies again because they were so small and cute in the first one.

Anthony Neely

I made a new discovery hehe: Anthony Neely, a Taiwanese American - he gets a plus for being a halfie ;) He only has one album so far, titled "Lesson One" that was released in November last year. I think my favourite song from the album is "Hide It" (first song below). The third song below is in English :D

The weather has been so horrible lately. I probably wouldn't mind if i didn't have to trek to school in the pouring rain, and there were gigantic puddles everywhere. I also hate it for making my hair wavy because the bottom got wet this morning, grr. I read that this rainy weather is going to continue for a while. Give me Summer back! Anyway, I feel that school was so pointless today. We didn't do anything practical in class at all, but hooray for leaving early because i had last period off. We were told about a cadetship opportunity in Economics today and i've been thinking about whether i should apply or not. I was telling my teacher that i don't have any "boastful achievements" i.e. leadership roles and the like, but he said that they'd probably be looking more at academic results, not that mine have been that great. If only i were getting the same marks as i did last year *sigh*. And apparently the HSC personal timetables are accessible now but what the hell, we don't even have our HSC Online logins yet *facepalm*. (It's the school's fault of course.)

Back to hell

School starts again tomorrow and i have to say that these holidays didn't feel as short as they usually do. I did unfortunately fail (epically) at keeping to my schedule though. *Sigh* I haven't been able to sleep properly lately and it's really killing me so i shall try and go to sleep now. Let's hope i don't look like a zombie tomorrow morning.

Opinions please!

In case i have any readers from overseas, our formal is somewhat like prom in the US. It's probably a lot more toned down though. I actually have a short dress i really want but i can't decide whether to get it or not because i know quite a few people are going to wear long dresses and i wouldn't want to be the odd one out. It's also 165 pounds which is around $253 AUD *sigh*. I'd have to pay for shipping too. Anyway, please give your opinion on whether you think i should buy/wear a long or short dress. I really do need opinions so please vote. I know it's hard but pick one please? *puppy eyes*

Short or long formal dress?

Change of plans

I've always had my mind set on going to Hong Kong after the HSC but i suddenly don't really want to go any more. I mean other than eating yummy food and shopping, there really isn't much to see, and the fact that it'll be Winter in the northern hemisphere means i'll probably be buying less since i love Summer clothes so much more. I think i want to go to the United States now, which i find a little strange because i never really wanted to go before. Sure it would've been nice to go but i was never keen on going. I suddenly really want to go and i don't exactly know why. I know my mum wants to go and visit my grandparents in New York whom we both haven't seen since i was a child so perhaps i'll end up going (hopefully). Hehe it's more than half a year away but i'm excited already!

I woke up today and noticed that it was raining, which made me kind of sad because i really don't like it when it rains. That and it's super cold today (says me who's still wearing shorts). I should probably go put on some long pants before i catch a cold *sigh*. Now i'm kind of regretting that i didn't go out to yum cha with my cousins. Anyway, i'm off to eat breakfast now (breakfast at 1:30 - yep, that's me). Though in case you misunderstand, i didn't just wake up (:

First time cookie baking

First time making cookies today D: They didn't turn out pretty enough so i won't be posting any photos (sadly). I comforted myself by saying at least they taste good haha. I'm thinking that maybe i should've made normal cookies instead of icebox cookies. Rolling the dough into an even log was rather hard, and after i sliced them, they didn't even look round any more. In the end, they turned out kind of square *facepalm*. Oh well, practice makes perfect. I should also probably buy an actual electric beater or a very deep bowl because my gigantic electric whisk from the Sunbeam StickMaster Pro (the one that they used on Master Chef *laughs*) is too big and bits of my dough were flying out whilst i was trying to cream the butter and sugar. Luckily i put the bowl in the sink, otherwise it would've flown all over the place. That makes me sound so fail ): It really was the whisk's fault though! or the bowl's. Hopefully next time they'll be pretty enough to show you guys.

Jang Geun Suk's new Japanese single - Let Me Cry. It actually caught me by surprise because i wasn't expecting rock. Hehe i liked him after watching You're Beautiful (Korean drama). It seems like i haven't listened to rock in so long D: *was into J-rock for a while*

Sephora Hello Kitty collection

You guys should know by now that i'm a complete sucker for cute packaging and at the moment i'm so wishing that there was a Sephora in Australia because these are so cute! I'm loving the colours too. Australia misses out on so much, it's not fair )';

Don't Cry - Park Bom

Park Bom's new single isn't a disappointment at all (yay). I think i actually like her doing solos rather than being in 2NE1.

Zara opening

I went shopping with a friend of mine today in the city and it just so happened (by coincidence) that it was also the day of Zara's opening. I didn't know about it until last week when i randomly decided to see if there was any news about it. I was so excited! We were there for around 3 hours from 9:30 to 1:00, but that was because of all the waiting. First we waited to get in the store (i found it so amusing how there were staff going around with baskets of apples asking if anyone wanted one, + bottled water), then we waited about a million years to get into a changing room (really stupid how they only had five change rooms on the lower floor), and then we had to wait again to pay.

Although i've been hyped since last week about Zara finally opening a store in Australia, i have to say that i was a little bit disappointed by the range of clothes offered. I don't think they lived up to my expectations, and i really do think there are better clothes on their site. The shoes were definitely disappointing. I honestly expected to splurge today and even though i went into the change room with nine items, i ended up only buying two cardigans/knits and a headband after trying them on. Well considering that they receive new stock every two weeks (apparently), i hope they stock more of their European range. I do wish that it were summer though, because i seem to like summer clothing more. Hehe random people kept asking us how Zara was when we shopped around at other places. I find it quite amazing how renown it is.

Some time in the afternoon. Excuse the reflection in the glass.

Oh! I also finally stepped foot in a Tiffany & Co. store. Having only seen images on their site because i haven't had the chance to go to the actual store before, i always thought that Tiffany keys were really pretty but after seeing them in real life, i didn't want them as much. I mean they're still nice, but i don't think i'd be willing to spend the money for them. Is it just me or have i been rather let down today? *laughs* Oh well, the good thing is that my bank account balance didn't suffer anywhere near as much as i thought it would. I had fun anyway (:

Hehe i read that Top Shop is coming next year!

''It is understood that Topshop … has secured a new local partnership with Next Athleisure and would like to open their first flagship store in Sydney CBD in 2012,'' Mr Alamsyah said. ''Forever 21 from the US has recently met with major shopping centre owners to discuss takeover of some of the embattled bookstore chain Borders' stores in Australia.'' The H&M group is still talking with some major Australian shopping centre owners and retail leasing agents, however there is no commitment yet.

Esperanza - Nishino Kana

Wow, i'm so behind schedule it's not funny. Why can't holidays be three weeks long? I have to say that this song is rather disappointing. Hm, i think she looks better with her old blonde hair.

Vid spam

Hehe i've been video spamming a lot haven't i?
I was youtubing and came across sori1004jy videos again so i thought i'd post some because they're just too awesome. I can't remember if i've posted her videos before but i don't think so. She has so much talent and it's such a shame that her youtube account was suspended, from what i read, because of violations of copyright in one of her covers (the uploader isn't her).

It's so quiet

Unfortunately i haven't been doing anything immensely exciting so i haven't had much to blog about. I'm happy with myself for not finding any new dramas to watch, but i'm still rather behind schedule. I'm not sure if i can refrain from buying anything though. I hate how even though i buy new items to add to my wardrobe, i still feel like i have nothing to wear. On the contrary, rather than expanding my wardrobe, i feel like it's shrinking :| Possibly because i'm finding that i no longer like some things. *Sigh* One can never have enough clothes, or shoes, or anything at that. Every time i think about that, i remind myself of Economics and how we have "unlimited wants and limited resources" - bleh.

It's been so cold lately and even though i complain (a lot) when it's super hot in Summer, i think i still prefer warmer weather, especially because i hate dislike wearing jeans/long pants. Even right now i'm feeling a little cold and yet i'm still wearing shorts - i find that part of me so weird. Well i guess there's one thing to look forward to with the cold weather, and that's wearing our jerseys next term, hehe :D Which reminds me, i haven't mentioned that our Legal Studies teacher has left us and i'm scared that we'll end up with a horrible new teacher who'll lead us to our doom. I'm going to be especially angry if she changes the option from Family Law to something else because i really want to do it and all the other options aren't particularly interesting. I feel like we've lost all our support because she was such a great teacher ):

I've been so off track for the past few hours so i should get back to work now );

Holiday plans/goals

1) Study like no tomorrow
2) Learn some piano pieces - I haven't played in ages and i bet i'm all rusty now *sigh*.
3) Bake some cookies (?) - I've been meaning to do this for quite a while.
4) Refrain from online shopping.
5) Refrain from watching dramas! They're so evil and addictive.
6) Go to the optometrist. I was actually meant to go quite a while ago :|
7) In relation to the above, be bothered to wear my contacts every day night.
8) Stop being nocturnal. That is, sleep earlier and wake up earlier.

Rainfall

I had the worst sleep last night because it was raining and whenever it rains, the water makes a very unbearable dripping noise from impacting the bit of roof near my window. Perhaps the water gathers up because it's quite loud. I think it's nice to sleep in on a rainy day but when i'm trying to fall asleep at night, that horrid dripping noise drives me insane.

Today was rather boring, as usual. Surprisingly we didn't get back our English or Maths results. I did however, get back my Japanese results and i did well i guess, but not well enough. As a consequence, i'm pretty certain that i'm no longer first, which is extremely depressing. I think that dropping from the top rank is so much more depressing than say, dropping from second to third. Japanese is also the only subject that i'm capable of coming first in, which makes it all the more upsetting. Depending on the performance of my competitor in the future, i'm not sure if i can redeem myself *sigh*. But i guess now i have something to work for...?

Hehe, pre-register for SMASH 2011 is opening soon. I'm so glad that they thought of us HSC students and moved forward the date so it wouldn't be during our trials. I'm still thinking about whether i'm going to buy a yukata to wear. If i decide to, i'll probably be buying it off Rakuten (Japan's biggest online shopping mall. Somewhat like eBay?). However, expensive shipping costs are making me reluctant. A seller i asked said it'd cost between 4000 to 5000 yen (around 40-46 AUD) *dies*. I want to wear one though ):

Chubz

(Youtuber) Bubz' puppy is so adorable! I want a white pomeranian puppy. They're so small, cute, fluffy and loveable. Although i have a dog already, he's such a bully so he's not fun at all. He's heavy and he growls at me when/if i try to pick him up. It seems like the older he gets, the meaner he becomes, hmph.

Park Jung Min - Like Tears Are Falling

Marc Jacobs, Daisy - Eau So Fresh

My uncle helped me buy Marc Jacobs' new fragrance, Daisy - Eau So Fresh from Hong Kong. It's a "new twist" on the original Daisy, apparently targeted at a younger market because it's lighter and fresher, although it smells a bit different. I still like the original Daisy so maybe i'll buy a bottle of it too. I don't think it hits Australian shelves until next month and seeing as i really wanted to try it out, i asked him to help me buy it since he was coming over anyway (permanently). Hehe the bottle is so pretty.

Top notes: grapefruit, green notes, raspberry and pear. Middle notes: jasmine, rose, violet, litchi (lychee?) and apple.
Bottom notes: musk, virginia cedar and plum.

Friday night out

I had such a lovely time out with friends tonight, but before i get to that, i'm very embarrassed to say that i slipped down the stairs at Strathfield station this morning. I was putting change back in my bag whilst going down the stairs (whilst wearing heels) and i probably missed the step because i ended up skidding down a few steps. Yes, it was painful and embarrassing. Lesson learnt? Don't multi task whilst walking down the stairs.

Moving on, we went for three hours of karaoke at Big Echo and then ate dinner at Blackbird Cafe in Darling Harbour. Hehe, i had some very yummy sweet potato and leek ravioli. We then walked around a bit and went for ice cream at Passion Flower before going home. It doesn't sound like we did much but it's who you're with that counts.
