Fresh

I decided to change out of the classic template and use the "modern" interface. It's plain and simple but I like it that way. If you want to leave me a comment just click on where it says "0 comments" and type away (You don't need a Blogger account to do so). Hm, I personally like small text but it just occurred to me that it's pretty small compared to normal text. Is it too small? I should really go and study now but I'm so lazy and can't be bothered. I swear I'm the biggest sloth ever.

Can't believe I'll be free in four more days! Hehe I'm looking forward to the end of next week. I'm probably going to get my new camera on Friday or Sunday, possibly dye my hair and go out for dinner with some friends. Can't wait to get out of the house and do something.

Since it's past 12, Happy Halloween!

Sleepless

Wow, I haven't blogged in a while. These past two weeks have felt like the longest two weeks of my life and my inability to sleep isn't helping. I don't think I've ever had such bad insomnia, and the thing is, I'm not even that stressed. Honestly, I don't know why I can't sleep. I was so exhausted after the Economics exam yesterday that I went to sleep at around 10 and I was awake for the whole night. I don't think I fell asleep until the sun started rising. Not being able to sleep and lying in bed for hours is so frustrating. I tried listening to music, counting sheep, but it didn't work. *Sigh* I don't have much appetite lately either. Anyway, two more exams to go!

Recently started watching Man of Honour. Talk about procrastination *guilty*. I think it's quite good hehe. Loving the ending song.

The clock is ticking

If I don't blog in the next three weeks it'll be because I'm cramming away for my exams. Strangely enough I'm rather calm right now, though I'll probably be in a state of panic in the morning before each exam. I know I won't be able to achieve super high because needless to say, I'm not a hard worker (regardless of what some people may think or say). I just hope I can get high enough to get into the course I want to do and if not, I guess there's no one to blame but myself for being so lazy. Anyway, I'm planning on dying my virgin hair brown at a salon after exams but I don't know what shade would suit me. Please drop me a comment if you have any suggestions!

Good luck to any fellow year 12s! We're almost at the finish line!

P.S It's such a pity that we don't really celebrate Halloween here in Australia. It seems like such a fun event in the US.

Bad day

I had a bad dream this morning which woke me up at 6 am and now I'm feeling rather like a zombie, though not because I lack sleep (if that makes any sense at all). I just feel kind of lifeless and really don't want to do anything other than lie in bed. I think the most frightening type of dreams are ones that you can actually imagine happening in reality. Dreams can be such strange yet wonderful things.

I haven't watched an anime in a very long time but I recently started watching Dantalian no Shoka. It's been a while since I've found an anime that I like and the OP is love (apparently it's in Latin). Unfortunately it's only 12 episodes long though. I should really stop posting videos shouldn't I? My whole page is filled with videos lately. I don't like that *sigh*.

On another note, I know I said that I was thinking of getting a Sony camera before but I'm thinking of getting a Nikon now. Not a DSLR of course, too expensive for me haha. I was thinking of maybe getting the Nikon Coolpix S8200. I'm a little confused though, because I've seen images of it in white and some articles have said that it comes in white and yet the Nikon site doesn't have it in white? Black is classic but white is different. A nice sort of difference. Other ones I'm considering are the S9100 and P300. The S9100 and P300 are only 12.1 megapixels but I have a friend who constantly tells me that a greater number of megapixels doesn't necessarily mean greater quality photos. I don't know much about cameras but hm, the internet tells me it's true. The (old) camera that I currently have is actually (surprise) only 7.2 megapixels haha. But the battery life sucks, the shutter speed is slow, a long with some other problems so I need a new camera.

Well it's 5 pm already so I better get some work done, regardless of my zombie state.

MVs

I apologise for lack of actual blog posts. There hasn't been much to blog about lately. In the mean time, more MVS?

Don't settle.

Yesterday I stumbled across Steve Jobs' commencement speech at Stanford in 2005 and found these words to be so inspirational. Just thought I'd share them.

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.”

Alexander McQueen Spring 2012 RTW

The full-face headpieces kind of freak me out but stunning collection nevertheless.

She based her collection on the three Gs: Grès for the pleating and draping, Gaudí for the architecture, and Gaia for the sense of all-encompassing oceanic life that infused the clothes, like the outfits composed of coral or shells. Or the incredible engineered matelassé jacquard in a barnacle pattern. Or the silk chiffon in an oyster print, which had been layered, cut into circles, and ribbed (though that hardly even begins to explain the complexity of the result). And if you carried the analogy still further, the black leather appliqué that infected a lace dress could be an oil slick; the Fortuny-pleated organza woven with copper, silver, and gold was like a pirate's buried treasure. - style.com

TVD

Just finished watching the latest episode of The Vampire Diaries and wow, the plot just gets more and more interesting (well, in my opinion). I hope you don't start grouping me with Twilight fan girls because TVD is so much better than Twilight on about a billion levels. I'll admit that I did read the Twilight series back when they were released but the movies just killed it all (I'll stick with my memory of Robert Pattinson as Cedric Diggory in HP thanks). Before you start jumping to conclusions, I am not a Twilight fan girl. I kind of hate how everyone associates all vampire-related things to Twilight these days, which makes me hate it even more. The first few episodes of TVD may seem a little like Twilight (unfortunately) but season three just started airing at the end of last month and every episode just gets better. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Stephanie Meyer got a little "inspiration" from TVD which was first published in 1991. I used to be an avid follower of Gossip Girl but I gave up watching it because the plot got so uninteresting and stupid.

Anyway, strangely enough I'm not a fan of torrents (because they always seem slow for me?) so if you're like me, I suggest you check out noor7-us for tv show and movie downloads. Do read the titles for movie downloads though, because not all of them are DVD/Blu-Ray rips. Personally, I love megaupload links as they download quite fast when I use megamanager but they're apparently slow for my friend so I have no idea. Works for me though! Now go watch TVD because I say so! :D

On another note, I saw a shooting star in my dream and I'm pretty sure that I wished for good results in the HSC. Lovely, even the dream me thinks about the HSC.

One more thing, I actually decided that I wasn't going to go to the KPOP Fest in November but I changed my mind so I'm going after all. I got gold section tickets for $160 instead of $189 (+ other transaction fees) from someone who was selling them on Soompi because she got VIP tickets instead. A part of me still thinks it's a waste of money but oh well, hardly anyone ever comes down to Sydney and I've actually never been to a concert before.
